The Best Shopify Agencies in Barcelona

Written by MM Shopy Devs, who are one of the five. We have put ourselves first, which is what you would expect, so the useful thing we can offer is honesty about the rest: what each of these agencies does well, and the cases where we would point you at one of them instead.

Barcelona's ecommerce scene is younger than London's and shaped by a different history. Much of the market came up on PrestaShop and Magento, so a lot of the work here is migration rather than greenfield builds, and the agencies reflect that.

1. MM Shopy Devs

We started in London in 2017 and moved to Barcelona in 2020, so we work across both markets in English and Spanish. Our Spanish work is concentrated in fashion, including Nude Project, one of Europe's fastest growing streetwear brands, alongside Caravana and other fashion-led names.

Where we are strong

  • Shopify only, and always have been. Never a PrestaShop agency that added Shopify, never a general web studio with a Shopify team. Every project since 2017 has been on this platform, which matters more in Spain than most places, because many agencies here arrived from PrestaShop and carry those habits with them.
  • Fashion brands, specifically. Sizing and fit, returns, drops that spike traffic in minutes, editorial photography, and multi-market selling across Spain, the UK and Latin America. That is our category rather than a vertical we also serve.
  • A boutique team. The senior people who scope your project build it. No juniors, no account layer, and you deal with the developer directly.
  • Both markets properly. We work in Spanish, English and Italian. Most agencies serving UK brands do not work in Spanish, and most Spanish agencies do not know the UK market.

Where we are the wrong choice

  • We do not build ERP, PIM, warehouse or accounting integrations, or the custom API work between them. Spanish mid-market retail often runs on a local ERP, and if connecting it is central to your project you need a partner who does that. We will say so on the first call.
  • We only take the work we can do properly. Few projects at once, deliberately. If you need to start immediately we may not be the right timing, and that is a genuine cost of working this way.

Best for: fashion and lifestyle brands selling across Spain and internationally, who want senior people on the build.

2. 3DIDS

A Shopify Premier Partner with more than 17 years in ecommerce and a large team across several Spanish cities including Barcelona. They handle enterprise and multi-country projects at a scale we do not.

Best for: enterprise retail, multi-country rollouts, and projects needing a large team with formal process. If you need forty developers, they have them and we do not.

3. Webmefy

One of the first Shopify Plus Partners in Spain, and a significant part of why Shopify grew in this market at all. Strong on full-service Shopify Plus work across verticals.

Best for: brands wanting an established Plus partner with broad category experience rather than a specialist.

4. Fantasticfy

A Barcelona-based Shopify Plus Partner covering custom themes, app development, migrations and CRO, working with both startups and established brands.

Best for: brands that need custom app development alongside the storefront, which is work we do not take on.

5. Atlas

A Shopify Plus Partner focused on mid-market DTC, with particular strength in B2B projects and complex migrations.

Best for: brands with a B2B side to the business, or a complicated migration from a legacy platform.

How to choose in this market

Three things matter more in Spain than they might elsewhere.

Ask what they did before Shopify. A large share of Spanish agencies came from PrestaShop or Magento. That is not a problem in itself, and some have made the transition properly, but it is worth knowing whether Shopify is their specialism or their newest service line.

Check they can work in your markets. If you sell into Spain and abroad, you need an agency comfortable in both languages and both sets of buyer expectations. Plenty are excellent in one and untested in the other.

Ask about integrations early. Spanish retail runs on local ERP and logistics systems more than UK DTC does. Find out who handles that before scoping, not after.

We wrote a longer guide covering this properly: how to choose the right Shopify agency.
