Signs to watch for
Is it time to redesign?
- The store no longer looks like the brand you've become.
- Mobile feels like an afterthought.
- Traffic is fine but conversion isn't.
- Every change is a fight against the theme.
- The store is slow, and you've stopped noticing.
- Your merchandising has outgrown the original structure.
If it's one or two specific problems, theme customisation is cheaper and faster. A redesign is for when the whole store needs to move.Shopify Theme Customisation

Risk removal
A redesign shouldn't cost you traffic or sales
Most redesign horror stories are avoidable. We redesign against your data, not just taste:
- 01
URLs are kept
No lost rankings, with redirects mapped wherever structure changes.
- 02
What converts is preserved
We study your analytics before touching high-performing pages.
- 03
Staged rollout
Built on a duplicate theme, reviewed with you, then published in one clean switch.
- 04
Measured afterwards
We compare conversion before and after, so the redesign is accountable.
How it gets built
How a redesign actually gets built
Most redesigns we deliver end up as custom theme builds. Not every one, but the majority, and it is worth explaining why rather than presenting it as an upsell at the quote stage.
Think about what a redesign changes: how the store looks, how it is structured, how it merchandises, how the product pages behave. That is most of what a theme provides. Once you have replaced all of it, keeping the old theme underneath means designing around constraints you have already decided to leave behind, and paying us to work against them.
So in practice a redesign runs the same way a bespoke build does. Every section is written for your store, your team gets controls built around how you actually work, and nothing is inherited that you did not ask for. The difference is not the craft, it is the starting point: you have a live store with traffic, rankings, customers and order history, and all of it has to survive the move.

Custom Shopify Theme Development- The honest alternative
When we build on your existing theme instead
Sometimes the honest answer is a smaller job. If the structure is sound and what you actually want is a visual refresh and a handful of fixes, we will say so and quote for that instead, because a facelift on a theme that works is a fraction of the cost and gets you trading sooner.

FAQs
A full visual and UX refresh of your existing store, design, structure, product and collection pages and mobile, published to your live store.
Not when it's done properly. We keep URLs, map redirects wherever structure changes and preserve the pages that already perform.
No. The redesign is built on a duplicate theme and published in a single switch.
Mostly in name. Both are a bespoke build to your brand, and for an established brand they are usually the same project. Redesign is the word most brands use when the store they already run needs replacing; custom build is the word used by people who already know they want something built from nothing. Either way, if there is a live store involved, carrying over what performs is a large part of the job.
Custom Shopify Theme DevelopmentFor a redesign, we build. Modifying an existing theme is a different and cheaper service, and if your list of changes is short we will point you there instead.
Shopify Theme CustomisationYes. We build from Figma regularly, and we'll flag anything in the file that won't translate cleanly to Shopify before we start, rather than after.
We measure conversion before and after the redesign.
Usually, yes. Most redesigns are delivered as bespoke builds, because by the time you have changed the design, the structure and the product pages, you have replaced most of what a theme was providing. The two pages describe the same craft from different starting points.
Custom Shopify Theme DevelopmentEverything we build comes with controls in the Shopify editor, built per section around what that section needs. We will show you the editor on a previous build before you commit rather than asking you to take the word flexible on trust.
Yes, outright at handover, with no licence fee and no dependency on us.
