Established in 1853, Private White V.C. has outfitted royalty, world leaders and rock stars from the same historic Manchester building for over 150 years — from supplying trench coats in WWI to manufacturing medical-grade garments during COVID-19, all while preserving locally sourced, handcrafted quality.
The challenge
A relationship built across three redesigns
What began as a full Magento-to-Shopify migration grew into an ongoing partnership — two further full-site redesigns over the following years, each one translating intricate new mockups into a fully custom, better-functioning Shopify theme.

- 2018 · 2019 Migration to Shopify
Magento to Shopify Migration
A complete platform migration from Magento to Shopify, preserving ~90% of the original design and improving the remaining 10% with more user-friendly solutions. Built on the free Debut theme, fully customised top to bottom, including a fully adaptive product page handling regular orders, pre-orders and sold-out items at once. Data migration handled by Rivki, now part of MM Shopy Devs' freelance network.
- 2019 · 2020 Custom theme development
Redesign
The second full overhaul of the store, built on newly provided mockups, adding new functionalities and logic for greater content control. Coordinated across developers and QA specialists over several months.
- 2020 · 2022 Full redesign or facelift
Full Redesign
The third comprehensive redesign, implementing intricate full-site mockups from a UK-based design agency into a fully custom Shopify theme — the most complex iteration to date, continuing to elevate the digital retail experience.
